Nicaragua is currently going through a crisis that is heartbreaking. It is political in nature, as pro-government groups violently clash with anti-government groups that want the removal of the President Ortega. The conflicts have resulted in casualties in the hundreds, and a destabilized economy.
Nicaragua is one of the nations Living Water International operates in, but the crisis has halted their work there. They have projects planned with communities to bring clean drinking water, but had to cancel thirty trips due to safety! Without the funds raised by those trips, Living Water is unable to fund the work in Nicaragua, leaving those communities waiting for their chance of safe drinking water.
This is a message from Living Water
The good news is that we believe our staff can safely resume work in Tola, our WASH (water access, sanitation, and hygiene) Program Area, but we’ll need your help to keep our program going. With your support, we can share safe water and partner with local churches to provide emotional and spiritual support in hurting communities.
Or indirectly: Part of every sale on Springtree LED goes to Living Water. For the remainder of 2018, it will be directed to Nicaragua.
